The creation of a Speaker’s Bureau to help make
the community more aware of the program was achieved during the summer
of 2002. The service is free of charge and available to community
organizations throughout the region.

In late 2002, The Foundation, in cooperation
with the Suffolk County Coalition against Domestic Violence, provided
$2500.00 to fund a computer program for victims of domestic violence.
The class met with great success for over twenty-five women. Discussions
to fund this program again are currently in progress.

The Foundation became a Charter member of the
Farmingdale Community Summit. The Foundation participated in the first
annual Summit Fair held in March of 2003 to help publicize the evils of
domestic violence.

Our second annual Moonlight Bowl was held in
early June of 2003. This charity event raised significant dollars
that allowed us to continue our mission.

In September of 2003, the Foundation joined in
an alliance with Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) by providing
$2500.00 to underwrite the printing costs of the Steer Clear of Bullies
Activity Book that will be used by CAPS volunteers throughout many Long
Island school districts.

The Foundation launched its first annual Holiday
Toy and Food Drive on October 15th, 2003. The Foundation, in
cooperation with students from the Farmingdale and Commack school
districts, will distribute toys and food to those in need in both Nassau
and Suffolk counties. Two collection sites have been created in each
county (see announcement).
